Cross Country Cycling is organized to spread the message that “The bicycle is a simple solution to some of the world’s most complicated problems such as Health and Global Warming.”

CROSS COUNTRY CYCLING MARATHON (XCM) 2023

1. Road Bike Race 72 KM
Eligibility: Men and women who are above 16 years of age (A16) and masters above 35 years can participate in this competition.
Equipment: Road Bikes.

2. Non Road Bike Race 72 KM
Eligibility: Men and women who are above 16 years of age (A16) can participate in this competition.  Masters above 35 years.
Equipment: Ordinary single-speed bicycles, hybrids, or MTBs.
Route: Nanniode – Meenakshipuram – Gopalapuram – Vannamada – Narni Causeway – Kannimari Pallimokku – Meenakshipuram – Gopalapuram – Vannamada – Narni Causeway – Kannimari Pallimokku – Pattikulam – Nanniode
Feeding & Technical Assistance Zone: Meenakshipuram
Time: Registration – 6:30 AM; Flag-off – 7 AM; Finish time – 1 PM

3. For students, Non Road Bike Race 7 KM
Eligibility: Boys and girls who are under 16 years of age (U16, U14 and U12) can participate in this competition .
Equipment: Ordinary single-speed bicycles, hybrids, or MTBs.
Route: Nanniode – Kavarathode – Pullimanchalla – Kuttikkalchalla – Kannimari Petta mokku – Pattikulam – Nanniode
Time: Registration – 6:30 AM; Flag-off – 7:30 AM

4. Slow Cycle Race for XCM Finishers
Eligibility: Only the last finishers of XCM can participate in this competition.
Distance: The course will be 20 meters long and 0.75 meter wide.
No part of the competitor’s body may touch the ground.  The bicycle must maintain forward motion at all times.  The bicycle must remain within the boundaries of the course.
Finish time: 1 PM

Lunch: 1-3 PM
Prize distribution:
3-4 PM

1. Men and women over 16 years of age; for both road bike race and non road bike race
Men: First – Rs. 10,000/-; Second – Rs. 6000/-; Third – Rs. 3000/-
Women: First – Rs. 5000/-; Second – Rs. 3000/-; Third – Rs. 2000/-

2. Masters men and women over 35 years; boys and girls U16, U14, and U12
First – Rs. 3,000/-; Second – Rs. 2000/-; Third – Rs. 1000/-

3. Slow Cycle Race Winners
First – Rs. 3,000/-; Second – Rs. 2000/-; Third – Rs. 1000/-

All participating cyclists get the following:
Jersey, Medal, Finisher Certificate, and Refreshment.  Some support (patrol, ambulance, first-aid at two feeding & technical support zones)

Lucky Draw Raffle Prizes:
This is to raise funds for the running of the CCC events.  The surplus amount will be used to provide sports bicycles for future training to economically disadvantaged kids.  Winner names will be announced after the draw at 3 PM on January 7, 2024.  Those who are buying raffle tickets, need not be physically present to win.

How to reach Nanniode, Palakkad, Kerala?
By Air
Coimbatore Airport is the nearest airport which is 72 KM distance from Nanniode.

By Train
Nearest railway stations are
i) Palakkad Railway Station is at a distance of 30 KM from Nanniode.
ii) Pollachi Railway Station is is at a distance of 25 KM from Nanniode.
iii) Some trains stop at Muthalamada Railway Station (2 KM) and Kollengode Railway Station (15 KM).

By Road
Palakkad and Pollachi Bus Stands are the nearest bus stands which are at distance of 25 KM each from Nanniode.

Important Notes:
– We follow CFI rules.  Terms and conditions apply.
– *Registration fee is inclusive of GST-18% charges.  Townscript platform charges are extra.
– Competitions will be conducted only if there are a minimum of three athletes per category.
– Accommodation is provided to participating individuals upon request.  They are to take care of own food and bedding.
– Light refreshment is provided at two FTA Zones.  Lunch is provided at the start/finish venue.
– Helmet is A MUST for all riders.  If you do not have one, get a good one.
– Route is not traffic-free.  This is a self-supporting ride.
– Personal insurance is mandatory at this event. If you do not have one, get an insurance immediately.
